Wheels...

Well, the wedding (and advanced show) preparation has started in earnest now. With a decent day weather-wise, I thought that it would be a good day to get at least one coat of paint on the front wheel. It will probably need a second, but one will hugely improve its looks for the time being! So, with it taped up and the paint mixed, it went on pretty easily, and looks much better than it did...... Especially considering it's been on the 'to-do' list since 2012.....

Once that was done, the remaining wheel nuts were checked and the wheel nut indicators were fitted, again I've had these for ages but just never got around to fitting them. The rear wheels looks much better having been degreased, too. Another little job done.

Now just the washing and polishing!

Nut Rocker...

Well, as the days grow longer and lighter, thoughts turn to shows and getting 326 back on the road again after the winter. Well, I say winter, it's mad to think that the last show with 326 was last May at Earl's Barton!!

A few irons in the fire. 326's first wedding duty is on the way next week for a friend getting married in the Chapel here at Oakham School. A little bit of sprucing up to do before then and a good clean and polish. I also need some white ribbon!!

I also managed to get a late entry to the Rushden Cavalcade on the May Day bank holiday when I realised that I was free for most of that weekend, which is great news. It is supposed to be a great show with road runs each day, so I am very much looking forward to that.

The Earl's Barton Fire & Rescue Show is on this year again, so I think that will be a re-visit having been for the last 2 years.

Also, entry forms are in for both 326 and 32 to join others at the Newark Emergency Service Show in July. A big show, this replaces the former Derby Fire Show, but on a bigger and better site - the Newark Showground. It should be a large show, so very much looking forward to this!

In advance of that, I thought a quick check of the wheel nuts was in order, but no wheel brace. A quick internet search and a few pounds lighter, it duly arrived and what a beast! Solid, extension bar to get the torque and British made! Winner, very impressed.
